Public Advocates Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN# 23-7103042). Our funding has historically come from three primary sources: foundation grants, contributions and litigation fees.
Foundation Grants
Single and multi-year grants provide critical program and operating support.
Contributions from Individuals, Law Firms and Corporations
These dollars provide operating flexibility and fund some of our most cutting-edge work.
Litigation Fees
Our reserves have been built up over time as the result of litigation fees awarded to Public Advocates. These unrestricted reserve funds provide year-to-year stability in operations and allow for strategic investment in important initiatives.
