Climate Justice

It’s time to create a more just, livable world
with healthy communities.

California needs to continue to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, while addressing the impact climate change is already having on the state’s residents. We work to ensure that California’s efforts to prevent and respond to climate change include the voices and address the needs of the state’s most vulnerable residents; advance racial and economic equity and environmental justice goals in metropolitan regions throughout the state; and combat poverty and pollution by securing state funding for affordable housing, public transportation and other investments that address priority unmet needs in low-income communities.

Public Advocates works with statewide and community partners to ensure that investments made using state Cap-and-Trade revenues reduce greenhouse gas emissions by funding affordable housing and public transit.

Our Climate Work

Winning climate investments that benefit low-income communities and those most impacted by environmental pollution and degradation.

Our goal is to break the long-standing patterns of segregation, sprawl, and health risks that plague the Bay Area.
