Understanding Teaching Assignment Monitoring Outcomes Data
In 2022, California released data about teacher preparation and assignments for the first time. The Teaching Assignment Monitoring Outcomes (TAMO) data on the California Department of Education’s DataQuest empowers students, families, and communities to understand whether teachers are fully prepared to teach the classes and students they are assigned to.
Use the data to figure out:
- How prepared are the teachers in your community?
- Are classes at your school taught by fully prepared teachers?
- Does your school have more teachers placed in the wrong classes than other schools in your district?
- Does your district have shortages of fully prepared teachers in specific subject areas?
