October 16, 2024—San Francisco Bay Area transit agencies face service cuts and budget shortfalls if they do not put a regional measure that will create funding for these agencies on the California 2026 ballot. Despite this impending budget shortfall and service crisis, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) special committee tasked with creating this ballot measure is approaching their October deadline without a framework in place.
