May 24, 2018 – Kirt Ramirez of the Beachcomber covers Public Advocates’ recent settlement with the Long Beach Unified School District. As a result of the settlement, students in the district are going to see a big investment in mental health and emotional support services. They’ll also have extended tutoring in Math and English. Parents are big winners, too—they’ll have a chance to engage more deeply with district officials with the creation of biannual community forums.
