August 16, 2022 – Sbeydeh Viveros-Walton, founding director of higher education at Public Advocates, and Nadja Jepsen, senior financial programs and scholarships director at College Track, wrote an op-ed on “scholarship displacement,” published in EdSource.

The article is about “a common practice wherein one form of a student’s financial aid, like a university grant, is reduced or canceled when the student receives an outside scholarship.” It urges the California Legislature to pass and the Governor to sign, AB 288, which bans scholarship displacement for over 1 million low-income college students in California.
