March 13, 2024 – The lack of accessible LLC ownership information can give bad actors cover and needlessly waste taxpayer resources in the pursuit of accountability. It creates challenges for the public and for agencies tasked with protecting public health and safety, preventing businesses from cheating their workers, and enforcing a wide range of laws. California Senate Bill 1201 would rightly make ownership information public.
