June 30, 2024—Public Advocates’ Managing Attorney John Affeldt and Deputy Managing Attorney Nicole Gon Ochi spoke with CalMatters Education Reporter Carolyn Jones about the school bond proposal. The two attorneys provided a deep understanding on why this bond was unconstitutional and currently inequitable. Since February, Affeldt, Ochi, complainants, partners from the CAP4FL and consultants have lobbied leadership in Sacramento.
