A who’s who of advocates, experts and agency representatives come together this week in Oakland for a convening of the California Climate Equity Coalition, a statewide group advocating for benefits to low-income communities from the state’s Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF).

Statewide Advocates, Agencies Convene in Oakland to Assess Progress and Investments under State’s Far-reaching Climate Change Law

A who’s who of advocates and agency representatives will come together this week for the second annual statewide convening of the California Climate Equity Coalition to evaluate the state’s climate investments for the next year of advocacy. Since its inception, California’s Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund—a product of California’s climate change laws—has supported more than 500 programs, including many in the San Francisco Bay Area, with an investment of some $1.8 billion dollars to benefit disadvantaged communities throughout California that are hardest hit by the effects of pollution.

The California Climate Equity Coalition is led by The Greenlining Institute, the Asian Pacific Environmental Network, Public Advocates, Coalition for Clean Air and SCOPE.
