February 7, 2018 – Adam Rogers of WIRED writes about the fierce debate over SB 827 in California. The bill, sponsored by Senator Scott Wiener, would put some metropolitan zoning policy that had been controlled by cities, into the hands of state government.
Deputy Managing Attorney Sam Tepperman-Gelfant is quoted in this story saying, “The rhetoric and tone in the debate has gotten extremely heated. If we’re going to get good solutions for low-income people of color, they need to be involved in shaping the policy.”
