In November 2014, the Metropolitan Planning Commission took the first step in updating Plan Bay Area, the region’s long-range transportation plan and Sustainable Communities Strategy, by releasing its draft Public Participation Plan. The comment letter, submitted on January 12, 2015, and signed by 37 organizations, lays out ten recommendations for how to improve the Public Participation Plan and help the regional planning process yield outcomes that are best for the region’s disadvantaged communities and for the region as a whole.
