November 23, 2020 – Will Houston of the Marin Independent Journal reports on a call by nearly 60 labor unions and supporters that the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) postpone capital projects like buying new buses to avoid large numbers of layoffs and a reduction of transit services to the public. Public Advocates’ managing attorney Richard Marcantonio is quoted in the report as having told commissioners, “We’re not talking about not doing those capital projects, we’re talking about making sure there is a transit system around to serve us when those capital projects are done in due course.”
