October 14, 2020 – Dan Walters of CalMatters covers Governor Newsom’s veto of AB 1835. The bill would have required school districts to properly spend money intended for high-need students. Managing Attorney John Affeldt is quoted:
“We estimate that the equivalent of billions of dollars of more or better services go undelivered each year and are rolled into general district operating funds due to district confusion or neglect and lax county office enforcement.”
