NPR reporter Scott Neuman on California’s extension of Covid-19 moratorium on evictions, quoting Sam Tepperman-Gelfant on concerns remaining among advocates and communities about protections for California residents suffering the economic fallout of the pandemic.
Samuel Tepperman-Gelfant, managing attorney for Public Advocates, a nonprofit law firm and advocacy organization, said he welcomes the moratorium’s extension but still has concerns.
“This bill is going to offer really important protections for millions of Californians suffering the economic fallout of the pandemic,” he told NPR.
“But there are procedural hurdles for some tenants in accessing these protections,” he added.
