WHAT:

Prominent Latinx state and community leaders join renters at a press conference to demand a statewide eviction ban and the passage of AB 1436. Speakers will discuss the devastating impact that evictions will have on the Latinx community. Already, 62% of renters that have fallen behind on rent are Latinx. In addition, the Latinx community accounts for 60% of all COVID cases in the state. Evicting renters during a pandemic is inhumane, and the Latinx community will be hit hardest if there is no eviction ban. The press conference will be conducted primarily in Spanish.
