On May 14, 2015, The Transit Justice Alliance (TJA), which includes Public Advocates and several community partners in Santa Clara County, sent a letter to the Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) regarding VTA’s “Envision Silicon Valley” process for a possible 2016 sales tax ballot measure to fund transportation. Specifically, the TJA proposed equity-based goals, principles, and objectives, as well as a process for developing and measuring the performance of different transportation funding scenarios.
