Williams v. California

Williams v. California

Public Advocates and our partners sued the State of California in a fight for students’ rights to basic resources, including teachers, textbooks, and clean and safe facilities. The settlement package provided over $1 billion in funding and established–for the first time–new laws, and accountability standards and mechanisms to ensure that all students had access to their own textbooks, decent facilities and qualified teachers for English learners.
