Our work to develop the leadership of students and families with Oakland partners dates back more than two decades. Together we have:

• Filed hundreds of Williams complaints to improve facilities, teaching and instructional conditions 
• Successfully sued the district to ensure that they provide timely School Accountability Report Card information 
• Empowered families to fully participate and inform the Local Control Accountability Plan and required school districts to be transparent on where the money is going  
• Collaborated on educator recruitment and retention
• Increased investments in youth mental health and supported students in their post pandemic transition back to the classroom 
• Shared resources and advice from our statewide alliance, the CA Partnership for the Future of Learning, on transformative, racially just community schools.
